In this tutorial you are going to learn how to extend the functionality of your Textpattern website by installing new plugins. You can find some free Textpattern modules/plugins here:

Find the plugin/module which you wish to use on the site and download the file associated with the extension. Open the file in a text editor like notepad. You will see an encrypted code which you might not be able to understand. That is the code for your plugin. Copy the content of the entire file and login to the admin area of your site. Navigate to Admin > Plugins:
Now you will see a text box called “Install plugin”. Copy/paste the contents of the .txt file that you have downloaded:
Click the “Upload” button after that. You will see a preview box of the plugin and a help box for the same. Scroll down and click the “Install” button:
You will then see the new plugin in the list of installed plugins:
