How to install a new style

 

In order to change the style of your forum, you will first need to download the the files of the desired style to your local computer. They usually come as a compressed file, so make sure that you unpack that on your computer first. The result will be a folder with the template's name, containing two other folders and a number of files, usually with .php extensions.

 

When the extraction is done, connect to your TMDHosting account using FTP. The FTP client will display you the files and folders you have on your website, and there you will be able to upload the new theme. Open the public_html folder and then the directory, where your forum is located. Look for a folder called templates and upload the extracted content of your archive there.

 

If you prefer, you can upload your new style, using your cPanel's File Manager. To do so, follow these steps:

 

1. Download the style to your PC. Do not extract it.

2. Open your CPanel, which is located at http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel, and click on the File Manager icon.

3. Using the File Manager, please navigate to your phpBB installation directory. Open the templates folder and click on [Upload file(s)].

4. Now click [Browse]: you will be presented with a dialog to browse your local PC. Find the style you have just downloaded (the filename should end with .zip) and double-click it.

5. Click the [Upload] button and wait for a while until the style archive is uploaded. Click on the newly uploaded .zip file and choose “Extract file contents”. Once you are done with the upload of your new style, you will have to activate it. This can be done from your forum's General configuration. It can be accessed through the "Configuration" link from the menu on the left.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There you should locate the "Default Style" section and choose your new style from the drop-down menu next to it.
